Donald Trump has won the presidency of the United States of America. In an electoral race that was closely fought from the start, voters in the biggest economy in the world chose Donald Trump one more time over incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris at the polls on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
At a little after 10am central European time, the Democratic Party reached the necessary 270 votes to gain the majority over the Democrats. Republicans gained several swing states that virtually painted the country red, leaving predictable blue states on America’s coastal boarders as consolation to Democrat supporters.
Swing states went to Trump in US election
The decider, as at many elections was Ohio. Once the result for that state is in, it is often a done deal. Various swing states had everyone’s eyes pegged on the figures. Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina all went Trumpward.
As well as Congress, it is looking like Trump has gained a majority in the Senate too, but by a hair’s breadth. The final say on who will become the next president of the United States of America is still down to the Electoral College, but little would doubt their approval. We can expect Donald Trump Jr. to re-enter the Whitehouse in mid-January 2025.
